BEHALVES' in iç tutarlığı Cronbach ? katsayısı ile belirlendi.
Although the etiology of shoulder, back and waist pain in adolescents is not clear, it is caused by factors such as activity level, long-term sitting, and inappropriate posture habits in the daily lives of students at school and at home. This situation can negatively affect people's participation in daily life and their quality of life. The aim of this study is to examine the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the Posture Habits Related to Back Health in Daily Activities Questionnaire (BEHALVES) in adolescents. 162 volunteers between the ages of 12 and 17 were included in the study. For reliability analyses, test-retest and intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) values were calculated. The internal consistency of BEHALVES was determined by the Cronbach ? coefficient. Additionally, the ceiling-floor effect was examined. The validity of BEHALVES was evaluated with content validity and convergent validity from hypothesis tests. For convergent validity, the Spearman r correlation coefficient was calculated between BEHALVES and the Back Pain and Posture Assessment Inventory (BACKPEI) and the Cornell Student Musculoskeletal Disorder Questionnaire. The content validity index was calculated for the compatibility analysis of expert opinions. When the test-retest values (ICC) for the sub-dimensions and total score of BEHALVES were examined, it was seen that bag use, weight carrying, reaching and the total score of the scale were consistent (p > 0.70). Standing and sitting posture sub-dimensions were found to be borderline consistent (p<0.01). When the internal consistency coefficient of the scale was examined, it was found that the consistency levels of the sub-dimensions were at a low level, while the consistency of the total scale was found to be at a medium level. No significant ceiling-floor effect was observed. A weak correlation was observed between BEHALVES and BACKPEI (r=-0.266) and Cornell Musculoskeletal Disorder Questionnaire (r=-0.179). As a result, the Turkish version of BEHALVES is a valid and reliable scale for use in clinical and scientific research among adolescents.
