Özet
Kadına yönelik şiddet yaygın bir toplumsal sorundur. Şiddet, evrensel olarakbütün dünyada, her yaş ve cinsiyete karşı uygulanan bir insan hakkı ihlalidir. Aile içindeşiddet daha çok erkeğin kadına uyguladığı şiddet biçiminde ortaya çıkmaktadır. Kadınayönelik şiddetin kaynağında cinsiyet ayrımcılığı yatmaktadır. Ancak sorunun yıllarboyunca mahrem olarak algılanması nedeniyle konuyla ilgili yapılan çalışmalar yetersizkalmıştır. Günümüzde bu anlayışın değişmesiyle beraber konuya ilişkin yapılançalışmalar artma eğilimi göstermektedir. Kadına yönelik şiddetin toplumun tümkesimleri tarafından daha iyi irdelenmesi, anlaşılması ve çözüm için yapılmasıgerekenlerin ortaya konulabilmesi için bu tarz çalışmaların yapılması önemlidir.Anahtar Sözcükler: Toplumsal cinsiyet, şiddet, aile içi şiddet, kadına yönelikşiddet, kadın sığınmaevi.
Violence against women is a widespread social problem. Universally throughoutthe world, violence is a violation of human rights against each age and gender.Domestic violence occurs in the form of violence against women. Genderdiscrimination lies in the source of violence against women. But, there has beeninsufficient work done on the subject because of the problem perceived as a privy tothroughout the years. Today, with the change of this approach, the studies on the subjectshow an increasing trend. This kind of work is important for a better investigation,understanding of violence against women and in order to specify what should be donefor solution.Key Words: Gender, violence, domestic violence, violence against women,women's shelters.
