| dc.description.abstract | Ülkelerin bulundukları coğrafyada mutlak varlıklarını sürdürebilmek adına savunma harcamalarına ayırdıkları payın önemi büyüktür. Savunma harcamaları ile iktisadi değişkenler arasında var olan ilişkinin araştırılması literatürün güncel konuları arasında yerini korumaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı ise savunma harcamaları ile önemli bir ekonomik gösterge olan istihdam oranı arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektir. Bu bağlamda, Türkiye ve Avrupa Birliğine (AB) üye olan ülkelerin ilgili değişkenleri için 1993-2017 yıllarına ait verilerden yararlanarak, ilişki yapısı panel veri regresyon analizi yöntemi kullanılarak incelenmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre savunma harcamaları ve istihdamı oranı arasındaki ilişki istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bulunup, savunma harcamaları değişkeninin istihdam değişkeni üzerinde ters yönde etkiye sahip olduğu görülmüştür. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | The share of defense spending is important for countries in order to maintain their absolute existence. Investigation of the relationship between defense expenditures and economic variables remains one of the current issues in the literature. The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between defense expenditures and employment rate which is an important economic indicator. In this context, benefiting from the data of Turkey and the European Union (EU) member countries for the 1993-2017 period, the structure of relationships between variables have examined using panel data regression analysis method. According to the results, the relationship between defense spending and employment rate is found to be statistically significant and defense spending variable has an adverse effect on employment variable. | en_US |
