Human dimensions research in landscape planning and design is a complex scientific knowledge that requires multidisciplinary perspectives and a wide range of applications and implications. This chapter examines the term human dimensions why is needed in landscape discipline and how social science approaches seek to fill this need due to landscape planning and design deals with the management of human and landscape interactions.
