Post-İnsan, Ergonomi ve Tasarım: Yok-Yerde Tasarımın İmkânı Üzerine Bir Değerlendirme

| dc.description.abstract | ‘Merkezsizleşme’ düşüncesi, modernitenin insanı merkeze alan antroposantrizm anlayışına karşın, 20. yy’da ortaya çıkan post- modernizmin bir ürünüdür. Ergonomik tasarım ölçütleri, post-modern tasarımlarda ‘kullanılamaz’ hale gelmişlerdir. Çalışmada insandan bağımsız olan ‘üst-modernite’ ürünü yok-yer (non-lieu) tasarımları, kamusal alanda post-insan ve yeni mekân konusu özelinde tartışılmıştır. Bu ilişki, örnek bir mekân üzerinden araştırılmıştır. ‘Yok-yerlerde, post-insan anlayışının gelişmesiyle kamusal alanda ergonomik ilkeler işlevsiz hale gelir’ araştırmanın hipotezidir. Çalışmada, merkez-merkezsizleşme kavramları, post-insan, tasarım ve ergonomi konuları diyalektik bir yaklaşımla tartışılmıştır. Araştırma, bir mekânın ergonomik özelliklerini sosyolojik yapıyla ilişkilendirip tartışması nedeniyle açıklayıcıdır. Araştırmanın kapsamı, yok-yerleri temsilen ‘The Terminal’ (Terminal) filmindeki mekân ve mobilya görselleriyle sınırlandırılmıştır. Araştırmanın yöntemi, nitel araştırma için uygun olan dokümana dayalı içerik analizidir. Çalışmanın metodolojisi iki aşamalıdır. Birinci aşamada mevcut kavramlar incelenerek konuyla ilgili tanımlamalar karşılaştırılmıştır. İkinci aşamada ise filmde yer alan mekân ve mobilyalara ait görseller incelenmiştir. Sonuç olarak yok-yerde ergonomik ilkeler dahilinde insan ölçeğini merkeze alan mimari uygulamaların sınırlı olduğu ancak ‘yer kurmak’ amacındaki kullanıcıların, halen mevcut mekânı dönüştürme potansiyeline sahip oldukları belirlenmiştir. | |
| dc.description.abstract | The idea of ‘decentralization’ is a product of post-modernism that emerged in the 20th century, despite the anthropocentrism of modernity that puts human in the center. Ergonomic design criterias have become ‘unusable’ in post-modern designs. In the study, ‘upper-modernity’ products-non-lieu designs, which are independent of human are discussed in terms of post-human and new space in public areas. The research discusses this relationship through a sample space. ‘In non-places, with the development of post-human understanding, ergonomic principles in the public sphere become dysfunctional’ is the hypothesis of the research. In the study, concepts of center-decentralization ideas are discussed with a dialectical approach within context of post-human design and ergonomics issues. The research is explanatory because it discusses the ergonomic features of a space with the sociological structure. The scope of the research is limited to visuals of space and furnitures in the movie ‘The Terminal’ which represents non-places. The research method is document-based content analysis, which is suitable for qualitative research. The study had two-stage methodology. In the first stage, the existing concepts were examined and the definitions of the subject were compared. In the second stage, the visuals of the interior space and furnitures in the movie were examined. As a result, it has been determined that architectural practices that center human scale within ergonomic principles in non-places, which are accepted as public spaces, are still limited but users who aim to 'build a place' have still a potential to transform the existing space. | |
