Özet

Flexibility is an essential factor for on-time delivery of orders and sustainability. One of the obstacles to flexibility is the setup times needed during production. Due to the high setup times, companies cannot produce flexibly and also experience production losses. This study discusses the production scheduling problem of ring machines in the textile industry, where flexibility is essential due to the shortening of product life cycles. One of the factors affecting the setup times of ring machines is the difference in the changeover times between the products. The proposed mathematical model aims to assign orders with short setup times to the same machine. The characteristics of the ring machines and orders were taken into account, and the orders were assigned to the appropriate machines. The proposed model aims to reduce the setup time on the machines. In this way, the time used for setup can be used for production, and the production amount will be increased. The model was tested on a real example. Suggestions for production planning were presented by assigning orders with different scenarios. An example application is offered for various production processes of similar structures. © (2023), (Chamber of Textile Engineers). All Rights Reserved.
