dc.description.abstractBronş astımlı hastalarda sinüslerde patolojik bulgulara daha sık rastlandığı ve kronik sinüzit (KS) tedavisinin astım semptomlarına ve akciğer fonksiyonlarına faydalı olduğu yüzyıllardır iddia edilmektedir. Bu çalışma, bronş astımı (BA) ve sinüslerdeki patolojik bulguların birlikte seyrini değerlendirmek amacıyla planlanmıştır. Fakültemiz KBB-BBC ve Göğüs Hastalıkları Polikliniklerinde Eylül 1999-Mart 2001 tarihleri arasında ayaktan takip edilen 75 BA’lı olgu çalışma grubunu oluşturmuştur. Göğüs Hastalıkları Polikliniğinde hastaların ayrıntılı fizik muayeneleri yapılmış ve klinik takibinde gündüz skoru, gece skoru, öksürük skoru ve inhale b2 agonist tüketimi ‘astım semptom skoru’ olarak "0 ile 16" arasında derecelendirilmiş ve solunum fonksiyon ölçümleri yapılmıştır. KBB-BBC polikliniğinde öyküleri alınan, fizik muayeneleri yapılan olguların paranazal sinus bilgisayarlı tomografi (PNS-BT)’leri çekilmiştir. Olguların BT toplam skorlama sonuçları ile solunum fonksiyon testi sonuçları karşılaştırılmıştır. BT çekilen olgularımızın %93.8’de sinonazal patolojik bulgu tespit edilmiştir. BT skorlama değerleri olguların yaş, astım semptom süresi, astım semptom skoru ve solunum fonksiyon testleri ile karşılaştırıldığında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir bulgu elde edilmemiştir (pé0.05). Çalışmamızda olgularımızın büyük çoğunluğunda sinonazal patolojik bulgu tespit edilmekle birlikte, sinüs hastalığının şiddeti ile BA şiddeti arasında pozitif bir ilişkinin olmadığı gözlenmiştir.en_US
dc.description.abstractIt has been known for hundred years that sinus pathology have been often encountered with bronchial asthma (BA) and treatment of sinusitis will be helpful to pulmonary functions and relieve symptoms of asthma. This study was designed to evaluate the association of BA with sinus pathology. A total of 75 patients with BA, followed by ENT and respiratory disease clinics, were included in this study between september 1999 and March 2001. Follow up of the patients in respiratory disease clinics, day score of BA, night score of BA, cough score and consumption of b2 agonist score were graded between ‘0 and 16‘ as symtom scores of BA and respiratory function tests were performed. The ENT examination of the patients was done and computed tomographic scans of the paranasal sinuses were performed on the coronal plane. A total sinus CT scan score and the results of respiratory function tests were compared. Sinonasal pathology was detected on 93.8% of the patients. When sinus CT scan score was compared to the age, symptom duration of BA, symptom score of BA and respiratory function tests, there was no statistically significant correlation (pé0.05). As a result, while we determined sinus pathology on most of the patients in our study, we could not find any association between severity of asthma and sinus disease severity.en_US
