Özet
Bu çalışmada amaç, ortaöğretim öğrencilerine kazandırılması gereken değerlere ilişkin velilerin okuldan beklentilerini belirlemektir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda fenomenolojik desende tasarlanan çalışmanın verileri, yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ile elde edilmiştir. Çalışma kapsamında 17 katılımcı ile görüşme gerçekleştirilmiştir. Veri analizinde, tümevarımcı içerik analizi tekniği kullanılmıştır. Bulgulara göre, veliler, okulun çocuklarına insani, milli ve manevi değerleri kazandırmasını beklemektedirler. Çoğu veliye göre, okul, değer kazandırma bağlamında beklentileri karşılamamaktadır. Veliler çocuklarına değer kazandırabilmek için, onlara öğüt vermeye ve örnek olmaya çalışmaktadırlar. Ayrıca veliler, günümüzde öğrencilerin toplumdan soyutlanmış, bencil ve maddeci olduklarını ve bunun nedeni olarak da en çok; medya ve teknoloji alanında meydana gelen gelişmelere vurgu yapmışlardır
In this study, the aim is to determine the parents expectations about values that are to be gained by students at secondary schools. Data were obtained with semi structured interview form. Forms were applied seventeen participants. In data analysis process, inductive content analysis method was used. Findings showed that parents are expecting from schools to teach humanitarian, national and moral values. To most parents, school is not meeting the expectations. Parents are advising and setting good example for their children. Parents think that students are isolated from the society, selfish and materialist today and they state that the main reasons of that situation are the improvements in media and technology
