In this research, the aim is to examine children's books with a focus on children's rights in the context of children's rights. Within this scope, 20 storybooks selected by the researcher were examined in the study. The research adopts a qualitative research method with a descriptive design. The data for the research were obtained through document analysis technique. Content analysis method was used in the interpretation of the data. In this context, the works constituting the research group were examined in terms of how the rights related to vital, developmental, protection, and participation rights of children are presented, how elements based on discrimination are included, and the compatibility of the messages and visuals with children's rights. As a result of the research, it was determined that the examined books frequently address rights such as the right to life, health, nutrition, shelter, education, rest, play, entertainment, information, protection from neglect and abuse, protection from discrimination, freedom of expression of thoughts, and decision-making. Indeed, rights such as having a name, citizenship, living with the family, growing up in a loving environment, freedom of religion and conscience, prevention of child labor, the best interest of the child, privacy of private life, protection of individuals with special needs were less frequently addressed. Furthermore, when content based on discrimination in the examined works was evaluated, it can be stated that the expressions and visuals in the books mostly reinforce stereotypical views in society. On the other hand, it was determined that there is a low incidence of deviating from stereotypical judgments in the works. Within the scope of the research, when the appropriateness of expressions in the works to children's rights was examined, it was found that there are expressions that do not align with children's rights frequently. In this context, recommendations can be made to increase the levels of less frequently addressed rights (freedom of religion and conscience, child labor, privacy of private life, etc.) in the examined children's storybooks and enrich these thematic books in terms of children's rights.
