dc.description.abstractThe relations between intellectuals and powers in Turkish thought and Turkish political life have always been controversial. In the 1970s, when political and so & Oslash;l mobility was high, the relations between nationalist-conservative intellectuals and nationalist front coalitions are also discussed in this context. The roles of intellectuals such as Ahmet Kabakl & imath;, Ergun G & ouml;ze and Erol G & uuml;ng & ouml;r, whose columns in Orta Do & gbreve;u are emphasized in this article, in the formation of the nationalist front, will provide a perspective on their relations with power and political movements. For such an attempt, firstly, the socio-political context of the period should be taken into account and the intellectuals in question should be subjected to individual examinations. In this article, the roles of the nationalist-conservative intellectuals in the formation process of the nationalist front coalitions in the 1970s will be examined by focusing on the columns of Erol G & uuml;ng & ouml;r in Orta Do & gbreve;u. In this context, first of all, the theoretical discussion between the intellectuals and the power will be briefly mentioned, and then the role of the nationalist intellectuals in the formation of the nationalist front coalitions will be examined through the columns of Ahmet Kabakl & imath; and Ergun G & ouml;ze. Later on, the place and role of Erol G & uuml;ng & ouml;r and Orta Do & gbreve;u newspaper in the formation of the nationalist front will be tried to be determined. Afterwards, the attitude and position of Erol G & uuml;ng & ouml;r, as the editor -in -chief of Orta Do & gbreve;u, towards the nationalist front will be examined, and his common aspects with other nationalist intellectuals and the sides that differed from them will be discussed. Finally, as an intellectual, it will be discussed where Erol G & uuml;ng & ouml;r stands among the organic intellectual or the free-floating intelligentsia in terms of his columns in Orta Do & gbreve;u newspaper.
