Özet
Immaturity of the skin during the newborn period, that represents an adaptation process to the extrauterine life, gives rise to experience frequent dermatologic problems including the iatrogenic cutaneous complications. Dermatologic approach is extremely important in this special period since some of these problems are preventible. In this article; the difference between the physiologic properties of the newborn and adult skin is reviewed and appropriate topical treatment modalities and skin care for the newborns are summarized.
