Öğe ADAPTATION OF COGNITIVE STYLE INDICATOR: VALIDITY AND RELIABILITY STUDIES OF THE INDICATOR(Editura Univ Oradea, 2014) Aslan, Sevda; Gelbal, SelahattinCognitive Style Indicator (COSI) is a scale developed by Cools and Van den Broeck (2007) which evaluates cognitive style in university students. COSI is a five-point Likert-type scale consisting of 3 cognitive styles and 18 items. COSI cognitive styles are as follows: Knowing, planning, and creating. The aim of this study was to determine the validity and reliability of the university students. The study was conducted on 1851 university students. 1035 female and 816 male students participated in the study. The sampling group consisted of 1851 1st-4th year students studying at 63 universities during the fall 2012-2013 academic year. However, the data gathered from 331 respondents were excluded from the analysis due to incorrect or missing marking; therefore, the analysis was conducted using a 1520-person data set. The number of female students participating in the study was 885 and the number of male students participating in the study was 635. In addition, test-retest reliability method and internal consistency Analysis were used in order to evaluate the reliability of the scale. As a result of the factor analysis study, the COSI consisted of 18 items and 3 factors (knowing, planning, and creating). Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were carried out in order to test the construct validity of the scale. It was found that the Cronbach Alpha of the knowing, planning and creating were respectively 0.72, 0.77 and 0.80, and test-retest coefficients of the knowing, planning and creating were respectively 0.83, 0.87 and 0.93. Study findings revealed that this measurement tool can be used for Turkish university students as both a reliable and valid one.Öğe The analysis of relationship between school bullying, perceived parenting styles and self-esteem in adolescents(Elsevier Science Bv, 2011) Aslan, SevdaThis study aims to analyze the relationship between school bullying, perceived parenting dimensions and self-esteem in adolescents. The study group consists of 348 high school students in 10th, 11th and 12th grades at Ankara Science High School and Reha Alemdaroglu Anatolian High School of Ankara during the fall semester of 2010-2011 academic year. In this study, Student Relationships Attitude Scale, Parenting Style Scale and Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, were used as data collection tools. Student's Pearson correlation coefficients were applied in the evaluation of data. Significant relationships were found between Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale and acceptance/involvement dimension of father and strict control dimensions of mother and father.Öğe Bağlanma ve kişisel uyum arasındaki ilişkide ayrışma bireyleşmenin aracılığı(2010) Aslan, Sevda; Güven, MehmetBu araştırmada, oluşturulan model çerçevesinde geç ergenin anne ve babaya güvenli bağlanması ile kişisel uyum arasındaki ilişkide ayrışma bireyleşmenin aracılığının Türk kültüründe etkili olup olmadığının incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmada oluşturulan model iki aşamada test edilmiştir. Birinci aşamada kuramsal olarak oluşturulan modelin yapıları arasındaki ilişkilerin gözlenen verilere uyup uymadığına bakılmıştır. İkinci aşamada model, istatistiksel açıdan Yapısal Eşitlik Modeli test kriterlerini geçtiği için model testi yapılmıştır. Sonuç olarak anneye ve babaya bağlanma ve kişisel uyum arasındaki ilişkide ayrışma bireyleşmenin aracılığı kabul edilmiştir. Anneye ve babaya güvenli bağlanma ve kişisel uyum arasındaki ilişkide ayrışma bireyleşmenin aracılığının Türk kültüründe geçerli olduğu görülmüştür. Üniversitelerde yürütülen psikolojik danışma ve rehberlik hizmetleri kapsamında öğrencilerin ebeveynlerine güvenli bağlanmaları ve ayrışma bireyleşmesini sağlayıcı çalışmalar yapılarak onların bazı uyum sorunlarıyla karşılaşmaları önlenebilir.Öğe Development of Adjustment to University Life Scale(Hacettepe Univ, 2015) Aslan, SevdaThis study aims to develop a measurement tool that evaluates the adjustment of university students to university life in terms of personal, social and academic dimensions and also to conduct the validity and reliability of this measurement tool. The study included two study groups one of which comprised of 375 respondents and the other involved 488 respondents. Exploratory and Confirmatory Factor Analyses were used in order to test the validity of the scale developed for this study. In addition, test-retest reliability method and internal consistency Analysis were used in order to evaluate the reliability of the scale. As a result of the factor analysis study, the Adjustment to University Life Scale consisted of 60 items and 3 factors (personal, social, academic). Exploratory Factor Analyses were used in order to test the validity of the scale developed for this study. In addition, internal consistency analysis were used in order to evaluate the reliability of the scale. As a result of the factor analysis study, the Attitude to University Life Scale consisted of 25 items and 4 factors. In addition, internal consistency analysis were used in order to evaluate the reliability of the scale. As a result of the factor analysis study, the Attitude to University Students Family Communication Scale consisted of 28 items and 3 factors. Published by Elsevier Ltd.Öğe Ergenlerde ayrışma bireyleşme ile okul zorbalığı arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi(2010) Güven, Mehmet; Aslan, SevdaBu çalışmada ayrışma-bireyleşme ile zorbalık arasındaki ilişkinin belirlenmesi ve lise öğrencilerinin ayrışmabireyleşme ve zorbalık düzeylerinin bazı değişkenlere göre incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmaya, Ankara ilindeki üç lisede öğrenim görmekte olan 416 öğrenci katılmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplama araçları olarak Ayrışma-Bireyleşme Ölçeği Lise Formu, Öğrenci İlişkileri Tutum Ölçeği ve Kişisel Bilgi Formu kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde t testi, tek yönlü varyans analizi ve Pearson Momentler Çarpımı korelasyon katsayısı kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada cinsiyete göre yapılan karşılaştırmada ayrılık kaygısı, bakım veren kişiye bağlanma, akrana bağlanma, öğretmene bağlanma, sağlıklı ayrışma ve zorba kişilik alt ölçeklerinde kızlar lehine farklılıklar bulunmuştur. Sınıf düzeyine göre yapılan karşılaştırmada ise ayrılık kaygısı, öğretmene bağlanma, reddedilme beklentisi, sağlıklı ayrışma, zorba kişilik ve kendine güven alt ölçeklerinde anlamlı farklılıklar bulunmuştur. Okul zorbalığının zorba kişilik ve zorbalıktan kaçınma alt ölçeklerinin Ayrışma Bireyleşme Ölçeği Lise Formunun alt ölçekleriyle anlamlı ilişkiler ortaya koyduğu bulunmuştur.Öğe Ergenlerde Okul Zorbalığının Bazı Değişkenlere Göre İncelenmesi*(2011) Aslan, Sevda; Aşıcı, HalilBu çalışmada, ergenlerin okul zorbalığının bazı değişkenlere göre incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunun 373 (%51.2) kız, 356 (%48.8) erkek olmak üzere toplam 729 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak Koç (2006) tarafından geliştirilen "Öğrenci İlişkileri Tutum Ölçeği" kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda Öğrenci İlişkileri Tutum Ölçeği'nin zorba kişilik ve zorbalıktan kaçınma alt ölçek puanları cinsiyete göre anlamlı farklılık gösterirken; kendine güven alt ölçek puanının cinsiyete göre anlamlı bir farklılık göstermediği görülmüştür. Öğrencilerin annelerinin eğitim düzeylerine göre Öğrenci İlişkileri Tutum Ölçeği'nin zorba kişilik, kendine güven ve zorbalıktan kaçınma alt ölçeklerinin anlamlı farklılık göstermediği görülmüştür. Öğrencilerin babalarının eğitim düzeylerine göre zorba kişilik alt ölçeği anlamlı farklılık gösterirken; kendine güven ve zorbalıktan kaçınma alt ölçekleri anlamlı farklılık göstermemiştir. Araştırma bulgularına göre ilgili literatür doğrultusunda tartışılmış ve önerilerde bulunulmuştur.Öğe The impact of orienteering sport taught through creative drama methods on five factor personality dimensions(Elsevier Science Bv, 2012) Deniz, Ekrem; Yoncalik, Oguzhan; Aslan, Sevda; Sofi, NuriThis study aims to analyze the impact of orienteering sport taught through creative drama methods on individuals' emotional instability/neuroticism, extroversion, openness to experience, agreeableness and conscientiousness dimensions. With this aim in, extroversion, openness to experience, agreeableness and conscientiousness dimensions and based on Five-Factor Theory was implemented on physical education department students at Kirikkale University during spring 2010-2011 academic year. The ABPT was implemented on university students before they started studying orienteering sport taught by creative drama methods. The test consisting of emotional instability/neuroticism, extroversion, openness to experience, agreeableness and conscientiousness dimensions includes 40 items. The ABPT was implemented on the students again after they had completed the 10-week orienteering sport programme taught by creative drama methods. The findings of this study revealed that there was a meaningful difference between the emotional instability/neuroticism, extroversion, openness to experience, agreeableness, conscientiousness dimensions pretest and posttest scores of the study group in favour of conscientiousness dimension.Öğe Öğretmenliğe ilişkin tutumun beş faktör kişilik tipleriyle yordanması(2013) Aslan, Sevda; Yalçın, MuratBu çalışmanın amacı, öğretmen adaylarının öğretmenliğe ilişkin tutum- larının beş faktör kişilik boyutlarının yordayıcılığı açısından değerlendirilerek öğretmenliğe ilişkin tutum ile beş faktör kişilik boyutları arasındaki ilişki araştırılmıştır. Çalışma grubunu 2011-2012 eğitim-öğretim yılı sonbahar döneminde Kırıkkale Üniversitesi Fen Edebiyat Fakültesi dördüncü sınıflarında öğrenim gören ve mezun olup pedagojik formasyon eğitimi alan 270i kız, 89u erkek olmak üzere toplam 359 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak Öğretmenliğe İlişkin Tutum Ölçeği ve Sıfatlara Dayalı Kişilik Testi kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen verileri hiyerarşik regresyon analizi yöntemi ile analiz edilmiştir. While adolescents undergo their separation-individuation process, they also have to express their own consistent thoughts, feelings and actions as an individual. During this process an adolescent's stable personality tendencies may have a significant role in their separation-individuation process. Purpose of the Study: The purpose of the study is to explain the relationship between five factor personality dimensions and the separation-individuation process in terms of how five factor personality dimensions predict the separation-individuation of Turkish late adolescents aged 18-25. This research was designed as a cross-sectional study. In this study, Convenience Sampling Method was used. Method: The study group consisted of a total of 233 first- to fourth-year students studying at Ankara University, Hacettepe University, and Kirikkale University during the spring semester of the 2009-2010 academic year. The points that were obtained from the three scales were analyzed through SPSS 11.5 and the total points of the scales were found in the data analyses. Findings and Results: Extraversion positively and significantly affects separation anxiety and peer enmeshment. Agreeableness negatively and significantly affects engulfment anxiety, denial of need, teacher enmeshment, rejection expectancy, and practicing-mirroring. Emotional instability/Neuroticism negatively and significantly affects teacher enmeshment and practicing-mirroring. There is a positive relationship between separation individuation and peer enmeshment, practising mirroring, and the extraversion dimension; on the other hand, there is a negative relationship between rejection expectancy and the extraversion dimension. Conclusions and Recommendations: Counseling programs can be prepared and applied in order to increase extraversion, which is one of the dimensions of personality traits, to increase openness to experience and agreeableness, and to prevent separation-individuation problems that students encounter. This is an open access article under the CC BY-NC-ND license.Öğe The prediction of separation-individuation through internal-external locus of control in Turkish late adolescents(Editura Univ Oradea, 2015) Aslan, SevdaThis study determines the relationship between separation-individuation and internal-external control in terms of how Turkish late adolescents evaluate themselves with the help of the prediction of internal-external control. The study group consisted of 1-4th year students studying at Ankara University, Hacettepe University, and Kirikkale University. The Scale of Adolescent Separation-Individuation and Rotter's Internal-External Locus of Control Scale were used as research instruments. The data gathered were analyzed with a multiple regression analysis method. The findings of this study revealed that internal-external control predicts separation anxiety, engulfment anxiety, and nurturance seeking in a meaningful way. However, internal-external control does not predict peer enmeshment, teacher enmeshment, practicing mirroring, need denial, rejection expectancy, and healthy separation. Research findings from the literature were discussed with those of the previous research and recommendations are presented.Öğe The prediction of the five factor personality dimensions of Turkish late adolescents through the family's influence on career development(Editura Univ Oradea, 2016) Aslan, Sevda; Hamurcu, HabibThe aim of this study was to evaluate the predictive effect of the five factor personality traits of Turkish late adolescents on the family's influence on career development, and to thereby investigate the relationship between the five factor personality traits and the family's influence on career development. The study group consisted of students studying 1st - 4th years in Erciyes University Faculty of Education and Kirikkale University Faculty of Education. The Family Influence on Career Development Scale and the Adjective-Based Personality Test were used as research instruments. The data gathered were analyzed with a hierarchical regression analysis method. The findings revealed that family influence on the career development of late adolescents has significant relationships with personality traits and individual variables. These findings suggest that psycho-educational studies improving increase family support can be carried out for late adolescents who experience problems in career development.Öğe Primary education class guidance programme on primary education career development in 3rd grade(Elsevier Science Bv, 2012) Aslan, SevdaThe aim of this study is to identify the students' perception about materializing counselling and psychological guidance gains, which already exist and are being implemented in the primary class guidance programme, regarding career development in 3rd grade. The data were collected from 3rd grade 141 students ( 85 female, 56 male) studying in Satuk Bugra Primary School, Ismail Enderuni Primary School and Haci Mustafa Tarman Primary School in Ankara in 2010-2011 spring academic term. The Perception Form regarding Career Development Process were used as data collection instruments in this study. These forms consisting of 9 items were designed as a 5-point Likert type scale. It was found that students' positive perceptions about materializing counselling and psychological guidance gains regarding daily life and making plans. On the other hand, their most negative perceptions were; the behaviours of leaders and how the decisions that they take influence the lives of others.Öğe Primary education class guidance programme on primary education career development in 6th, 7th and 8th grades(Elsevier Science Bv, 2011) Aslan, SevdaThe aim of this study is to identify the students' perception about materializing counselling and psychological guidance gains, which already exist and are being implemented in the primary class guidance programme, regarding career development in 6th, 7th and 8th grades. The data were collected from 6th, 7th and 8th grade 160 students (90 female, 70 male) studying in Istiklal Primary School, Namik Kemal Primary School and Mehmet Varlioglu in Kirikkale in 2010-2011 fall academic term. It was found that students' most positive perceptions about materializing counselling and psychological guidance gains regarding career development were related to classifying the careers that they are interested in, describing the relationship between achieving their goals.Öğe Rehberlik ve Araştırma Merkezlerinin Örgütsel Analizi(2014) Aslan, Sevda; Bal, ElifBu çalışmada, Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı merkez örgütünün ana hizmet birimlerinden biri olan Özel Eğitim Rehberlik ve Danışma Hizmetleri Genel Müdürlüğüne bağlı, rehberlik ve araştırma merkezlerinin amacı, yapısı, personelinin niteliksel durumu incelenerek örgüt analizi yapılması amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Ankara İli'nin 15 ilçesinde bulunan 15 rehberlik ve araştırma merkezinden 14 yönetici, 14 rehberlik ve psikolojik danışma hizmetleri bölümü personeli ve 36 özel eğitim hizmetleri bölümü görüşülmüştür. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak Rehberlik ve Araştırma Merkezinin İşlevlerine Yönelik Görüşme Formu kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler nitel analiz yöntemi ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgulara göre rehberlik ve araştırma merkezlerinin eğitim kurumlarıyla iş birliği içinde oldukları belirlenmiştir. RAM'lar ile yükseköğretim kurumlarının ilgili bölümleri arasındaki ilişki kuvvetlendirilmelidir.Öğe The Relation between Attachment and Personal Adjustment Mediated by Separation-Individuation(Turkish Education Assoc, 2010) Aslan, Sevda; Guven, MehmetIn the frame of the developed model, this study aims at testing whether the mediation of separation and/or individuation between the relationship of secure parental attachment and his/her personal adjustment for a late adolescent is effective or not in Turkish culture. In this study, the developed model was tested in two stages. The theoretically developed model was tested whether (or not) the relations between the theoretically mentioned structures fit the observed data in first stage. As the model statistically fitted the structural equation model, the model test which was done in second stage. In conclusion, the mediation of separation-individuation between the relationship of secure parental attachment and personal adjustment was accepted. It has shown that the mediation of separation-individuation between the relationship of secure maternal-paternal attachment and personal adjustment was shown to be valid in Turkish culture. Some adjustment problems of students can be prevented through conducting studies to materialize their secure parental attachment and separation-individuation in the frame of the psychological counseling and guidance services that are carried out at universities.Öğe The relation between attachment and personal and social adjustment mediated by separation-individuation(Elsevier Science Bv, 2010) Aslan, SevdaThis study aims at testing whether the mediation of separation-individuation between the relationship of secure parental attachment and personal and social adjustment for a late adolescent is effective or not in Turkish Culture.
