Özet
Bu araştırma, öğretim süreçlerinde, özellikle sınıfta toplam kalite ilkelerinin uygulanabilirliğini ortaya koymaya yönelik olarak yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, Gazi Üniversitesi, Gazi Eğitim Fakültesi, Yabancı Diller Bölümü, İngilizce Öğretmenliğinde öğrenim gören 47 birinci sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada veri toplamak amacıyla iki tür ölçek geliştirilmiş ve bunlar deney ve kontrol grubundaki öğrencilere program öncesinde ve sonrasında uygulanmıştır. Bu ölçeklerden ilki öğrencilerin toplam kalite ilkelerine uygun öğretmen davranışlarına ilişkin tutumlarını ölçmek amacıyla geliştirilen tutum ölçeği ve diğeri, dersteki hazır bulunuşluk düzeylerini ve başarı durumlarını belirlemek için geliştirilen başarı testidir. Araştırma sonunda, toplam kalite ilkelerine dayalı öğretimin, diğer grupta yapılan öğretimle karşılaştırıldığında öğrencilerin tutumlarını ve başarılarını artırmada daha etkili olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.
This study was designed to determine the effects of total quality principles on students‘ attitudes and their achievements in teaching process, especially in classroom environment. Sample for the study consisted of 47 freshmen (first-year students) attended the English Language Teaching Programme at Gazi Faculty of Education, Gazi University. In order to ascertain the effects of total quality principles based instruction on students‘ attitudes and their achievements, the data were collected through developing two instruments for application before and after the experience proceeding. Results of the research showed that total quality principles based instruction in experiment group positively affected students‘ attitudes and their achievements comparing to the instruction in control group.
